Decatur's New Way to Detect Methamphetamine

Decatur Electronics proudly announces the release of the ID², a handheld, battery-operated unit that can easily and cleanly detect methamphetamine.

The ID² can detect methamphetamine on almost any surface, including skin and clothing. It operates using photospectroscopy, a new optical technology allowing officers to detect methamphetamine without physical contact with possibly contaminated materials.

Detect Methamphetamine: Save Time and Money

"The ID² can save departments a lot of time and money," said Kris Pearson, Marketing and Product Development Director for Decatur. "Rather than buying expensive, one-time use detection kits, officers only need to point the ID² and pull the trigger and get immediate results."

The ID²'s batteries can last up to 8 hours and are rechargeable, so there's little to no operational cost.
